Are you our Principal?
Join Greencode Ventures as a Principal — Fuel Europe’s Green Digital Revolution
About Greencode Ventures
At Greencode Ventures, we back what matter: high-impact, early-stage startups using digital technology to tackle the climate crisis. We invest in bold teams building scalable solutions in green energy, sustainable mobility, clean industry, and critical built environment and infrastructure.
With headquarters in Finland and offices in Helsinki, Stockholm, Essen, and Munich, we invest across Europe. Our first fund, one of Finland’s largest first funds, is active and well performing. Now, we're gearing up towards the Fund II.
Your Role as Principal
We’re looking for a hands-on Principal who thrives in not only in venture capital investing in startups but also in active participation in fundraising for the next fund. You’ll help our capital-raising efforts while playing an integral role in backing Europe's most exciting green-tech startups. This is a key role that has a clear path towards becoming a partner. You’ll be part of a tight-knit team that values purpose, and bold action.
What You’ll Do
- Startup Investing: Source, assess, and win top-tier early-stage deals. Lead deep dives, shape investment theses, drive due diligence, and bring in-depth analysis and clarity for decision making. You’ll work closely with founders from day one, offering strategic support as they build and scale.
- Fundraising: Partake ownership of fundraising for Fund II. Identify and engage prospective LPs, run the fundraising process, lead pitches, and help us to close commitments. You’ll craft compelling narratives, manage investor relationships, and help shape the future of Greencode’s capital base.
- Portfolio Engagement: Be a trusted partner to our portfolio companies. Provide guidance, connect them to partners, customers, talent and capital, and help them navigate early growth and future fundraising.
- Market Intelligence: Stay close to the frontier of digital sustainability. Track emerging trends, scout breakthrough technologies, and share insights that sharpen our investment strategy. Support our progress at data-driven VC efforts.
What We’re Looking For
- Investment Track Record: You’ve led or played a key role in early-stage investments, with clear successful outcomes (e.g., portfolio growth, follow-on rounds, exits).
- Proven Fundraising Experience: You’ve actively participated raising institutional capital before, and know how to build trust with LPs, from family offices to fund-of-funds and other private institutional investors.
- Technical & Digital Fluency: You speak the language of tech. Whether it’s tech related to digital energy, mobility, industrial solutions, built infrastructure, or enablers such as AI, SaaS, or platform models, you understand how digital businesses scale. You also have the skillset needed to run data-driven VC efforts.
- Networked & Credible: You bring strong relationships with LPs, co-investors, and founders across Europe.
- Sharp & Entrepreneurial: You’re commercially astute, highly driven, and thrive in a dynamic, self-directed environment. Strong capabilities to work as one team from multiple locations.
- Values-orientation: You are driven by curiosity, respect and transformation, and understand that we win as a team.
What We Offer
- A Mission-Driven Platform: Work on problems that matter. Help build the infrastructure for a net-zero future.
- Real Impact & Ownership: You’ll be at the heart of building the new leader in the European VC ecosystem by shaping our next fund, investments, and portfolio.
- A Strong Team Culture: We’re ambitious, open-minded, driven, and grounded in results.
- Competitive Package: Salary plus good participation in the carry.
- Flexible Location: Preferably based in e.g. Stockholm, Amsterdam, Helsinki, Munich, Essen with flexibility for remote work within Europe.
Start Date: In Q4 2025 – Q1 2026
