LiveEO Raises €28M to Scale Geospatial Intelligence Across Civil Infrastructure and Defense
May 6, 2026 •Greencode
Berlin, Germany — LiveEO, a global leader in AI- and satellite-powered monitoring of critical infrastructure, today announced it has raised more than €28 million in its first closing. The investment will fuel LiveEO's continued expansion across its core civil markets in infrastructure monitoring. At the same time the company accelerates its strategic push into dual-use defense and security applications, an area of rapidly growing demand across Europe and beyond.
The round sees Helantic, a dedicated defense VC, b2ventures and EIC join as new investors, with continued backing from Nordic Ninja, DTCF, Matterwave Ventures, MMC Ventures, Segenia Capital, and Greencode Ventures.
"Demand for geospatial intelligence is exploding, across infrastructure, climate risk, and defense," says Daniel Seidel, Co-Founder of LiveEO. “We are leading that wave: with a proven commercial business, our own data supply through our satellite constellation Twinspector, and now agentic AI capabilities that allow us to act on that data autonomously and at scale. The combination of all three puts us in a position to build something genuinely generational."
Proven at Scale, Built for What's Next
Since its founding in 2018, LiveEO has grown into a trusted partner for critical infrastructure operators across the globe. Today, customers are monitoring large-scale assets including power lines, railways, and pipelines in order to significantly reduce risks of outages, wildfires, and third-party interferences.
The company's growth in the commercial sector has been driven by a fundamental industry shift: the move from periodic, manual inspections toward continuous, satellite- and AI-enabled risk intelligence. As climate change intensifies, labor shortages become more pressing and aging infrastructure deteriorates, the demand for smarter technologies will become even more prominent over the next years and decades.
A New Era for European Geospatial Intelligence
Not only is the commercial adoption of satellite-based applications rapidly evolving, but Germany has also committed €35 billion to space infrastructure as part of its broader industrial and defense strategy, a signal of the strategic importance now placed on sovereign, independent access to Earth observation data.
LiveEO, with its global customer base, proprietary satellite constellation, and deep expertise in infrastructure monitoring, is uniquely positioned to benefit from, and help shape, this new era of European space investment.
"What makes this moment different is the convergence of two urgent needs: the civil infrastructure world requires smarter, continuous risk intelligence as climate pressure mounts, and the defense world is waking up to the fact that the same geospatial capabilities are essential for security and sovereignty," highlights Sven Przywarra, Co-Founder of LiveEO. “At LiveEO, we have spent years building a platform that sits exactly at that intersection. The synergies between what we do for a utility and what a defense customer needs are far greater than most people realize. This funding lets us lean into both, at the same time, with the same technology."
Scaling Civil Use Cases, Entering Defense
On its trajectory of becoming the leading geospatial company, LiveEO plans on investing the newly raised capital into three main pillars:
Scaling the civil business: LiveEO will expand its core commercial business in critical infrastructure, with an offering including risk intelligence for wildfire mitigation, vegetation management, and pipeline monitoring.
Expanding into defense: The same satellite and AI-stack that is already proven in civil use cases is directly applicable to intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), infrastructure protection, and situational awareness. This positions LiveEO as a leading European provider of sovereign geospatial intelligence for the EU and its allies.
Building Twinspector: Earlier this year, LiveEO already announced the launch of its own satellite constellation, Twinspector. It is European-built and purpose-designed for infrastructure monitoring. Delivering up to 35 cm stereo imagery, Twinspector will be the largest 3D camera in space, giving customers truly independent access to the data they need.
"When we started LiveEO, we set out to prove that satellite data and AI could transform how the world's most critical infrastructure is managed. That proof is now global, across five continents, with some of the world's leading utilities, pipeline, and railway operators. What this round enables is acceleration: deeper into the civil markets where we have proven product-market fit, faster on the GTM and product development side, and now into defense, where demand for exactly what we've built is accelerating rapidly. The commercial opportunity ahead of us is larger than ever," concludes Przywarra.
